Seattle native, Moe Jerome, has relied on local area resources to enhance his artistic knowledge
and skills over the years. He began his interest in drawing and painting while attending Franklin High School. He went on
to study design at the University of Washington while working for Albertsons Food Stores sketching pictures for some of
the weekly newspaper advertisements.
He has had the opportunity to study the mediums of oil and watercolor with Ilona Rittler at her
School of Fine Arts in Bellevue. Most recently, he has enjoyed collaborating with some of the talented artists in the
Puget Sound area. Moe who says that using oils on a fresh canvas is his favorite challenge, relies on the beautiful
Pacific Northwest to give him inspiration and ideas for his landscape paintings.
Although oil is his favorite, this artist can be found capturing beautiful scenes from Maui to
Whidbey Island with vibrant watercolors. He recently was the featured artist at a gallery in Langley,Washington, showing
over fifteen paintings of sunflowers. It was a very exciting and successful show. Many of the sunflowers now live in several
different states.
Though Moe does most of his work in his studio on beautiful Whidbey Island, he has sold paintings
to people in eighteen states.
